Ana Fernandez-Parmet of Parmetech Honored by the 100 Black Men of Philadelphia

The 100 Black Men of Philadelphia held the 2017 Women of Color Achievement Awards in conjunction with the Women Presidents’ Organization on Dec. 5.

The event took place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Warwick Hotel in Center City.

Ten women from the Greater Philadelphia area, including Ana Fernandez-Parmet, were honored at the event.

OSHA 10-Hour Certification


If you perform work in Philadelphia, all construction employees now must have the OSHA 10-hour certification.

This course is designed to provide an overview of required safety regulations to meet Federal OSHA Standards on all construction sites and for all trades. It covers an introduction to OSHA, fall protection, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, material handling, HazCom, scaffolds, ladders, trenching, confined spaces and fire protection.

CPR, First Aid and AED Certification

CPR, First Aid and AED Certification


Employers are required by OSHA to provide medical and first aid personnel and supplies commensurate with the hazards of the workplace. This course combines lecture, video, demonstrations and hands-on manikin training, and teaches participants to:

• Call and work with EMS
• Perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies
• Avoid blood borne pathogens exposure
• Know the role of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the Cardiac Chain of Survival.

Upon completion, students receive a certificate and wallet size certificate certifying training of First Aid, CPR and AED.

Arc Flash Awareness

Arc Flash Awareness


NFPA 70E requires employers to protect personnel by reducing exposure to major electrical hazards. Originally developed at OSHA's request, this class helps companies and employees avoid workplace injuries and fatalities due to shock, electrocution, arc flash and arc blast while ensuring compliance withOSHA 1910 and 1926.

The scope of this class includes: Hazard recognition of electricity and defines NFPA 70E requirements, safe working condition elements, arc flash boundaries, arc flash labeling and PPE requirements.

The Forum of Executive Women Marks 40 Years of Advancement of Women Leaders in Philadelphia Region

On Thursday, December 7, 2017, The Forum of Executive Women commemorated 40 years of progress at the Please Touch Museum with a celebration sponsored by PNC that included NBC10’s Tracy Davidson as emcee, Mayor Jim Kenney, the Forum’s pioneering co-founders, 12 other past presidents, members and guests.

Judith von Seldeneck and Lee van de Velde co-founded The Forum of Executive Women in 1977 after identifying the need for successful women to come together and take a close look at issues facing women in business. Today, The Forum comprises more than 450 women who meet regularly to advance the opportunities of women in leadership and drive the conversation on gender parity throughout the region.
